The season of good will was in evidence already at White Rose Volkswagen where Managing Director Frank Greenway handed over £1500 to Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. Mr Greenway from the Kildwick based car dealership decided to make a donation rather than sending out Christmas cards to his customers this year.
The donation which is linked to the Keighley BigK 10K run/walk 2012 on 18th March is the third such gesture that the company has made in three years. The funds were gratefully accepted by Manorlands Events Fundraiser Andrew Wood. Andrew said, “The support that White Rose Volkswagen and our other main sponsors gave last year helped us to raise £28,000 with the Keighley BigK event in 2011. This money is crucial to help us to continue our work helping 700 people in the local community with cancer and other serious illnesses each year.
Mr Greenway said, “"We are delighted to once again make this donation to Manorlands Hospice as an alternative to sending Christmas cards to our customers. We'd still like to thank them for their continued support but I'm sure they appreciate our decision to make this donation to support the fantastic work that Manorlands continue to do."
