Champagne Thursday, a group of charitable ladies in Northamptonshire, are hosting a series of monthly Swishing events, starting with a Swishing Party on October 27th from 7pm, to raise vital funds for the health and social care charity Sue Ryder as part of the Northants Big Wigs Challenge. The ladies, one as young as 11, are encouraging local people to come along to The Carriage House, Hingham Ferrers, and join in the fun.
Tickets for all the events are priced at just £5 and includes access to the venue, a fun speaker slot, who will teach you the 'tricks of the trade' in area's such as hair styling, floristry, À la carte cookery and beauty skills that can all be used at home. There will also be the chance to buy local made craft items, and bid for fantastic products and experiences in the auctions. All events will then conclude with a raffle to win the iconic bottle of Champagne Thursday Bubbly.
Last month Sue Ryder challenged budding entrepreneurs in Northamptonshire to use their business skills and money making acumen to utilise £50 as creatively as possible to raise vital funds for Sue Ryder.
There are many awards up for grabs during the challenge recognising different business skills. Awards include the Charity Entrepreneur of the Year award, awarded to the person or team who raises the most money overall during the Big Wigs period, the Ambassador award, for the person who best champions the work of the charity and the Innovative award for the fundraiser who has the most innovative or unusual fundraising idea, just to name a few.
All money raised from the event is vital funds that will help Sue Ryder continue to provide quality care for people living with end of life and long-term conditions including; Cancer, Stroke, Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia, Huntington’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and Motor Neurone Disease.
Emma Long at Sue Ryder said, “The Swishing Parties promise to be great nights with lovely treats. By coming along to the event and supporting Sue Ryder in this way, local people can help us raise much needed money that will go directly to help the hundreds of people we care for each year.”
