BNI, a networking organisation in Wellingborough, is hosting a special Corporate Charity Networking Lunch on Friday November 11th from 12.30pm) to raise vital funds for health and social care charity, Sue Ryder, as part of the Big Wigs Business Challenge. Members from the chapter are encouraging local business men and women to come along to Old Grammarians Sportsfield and join in the celebrations.

Last month Sue Ryder challenged budding entrepreneurs in Northamptonshire to use their business skills and money making acumen to utilise £50 as creatively as possible to raise vital funds for Sue Ryder.

There are many awards up for grabs during the challenge recognising different business skill and the Big Wigs will be invited to an award ceremony at the end of the challenge to thank and reward the participants. Awards include the Charity Entrepreneur of the Year award, awarded to the person or team who raises the most money overall during the Big Wigs period, the Ambassador award, for the person who best champions the work of the charity and the Innovative award for the fundraiser who has the most innovative or unusual fundraising idea, just to name a few.

The networking event is being hosted by comedian Russ Williams, who has appeared in the Real Hustle and on Soccer AM. Ticket are priced at £25 each and include a two course meal as well as comedy from Russ. There will also be an auction and raffle to add to the fundraising total.

All money raised from the event is vital funds that will help Sue Ryder continue to provide quality care for people living with end of life and long-term conditions including; Cancer, Stroke, Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia, Huntington’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease and Motor Neurone Disease.

Emma Long, at Sue Ryder said, “It promises to be a great event and will have some great networking opportunities.  By coming along to the event and supporting Sue Ryder in this way, local people can help us raise much needed money that will go directly to help the hundreds of people we care for each year.”

Ben Thomas. Sales Director at BMT Marketing and Sales and member of BNI Wellingborough, said, “When we heard about the care Sue Ryder provides, we instantly wanted to help them, the Big Wigs challenge was a great way to do this, as it is a fun completion, one we will win”
