Ride for Ryder boat ride raises £1,340

Boarding the boat 4 July 2010

Saturday 3 July, local boat owner's George and Alisha Shiel offered their vessel, free of charge, to the Sue Ryder fundraising team in Northumberland.

Seahorses shop manager, Val Dobson and team sold 59 tickets to the event, which also included a trip to the 'Inner Farne Island'; a rare treat that was kindly granted to us by David Steel of the National Trust.

The trip raised £670 in total, however, the local Barclays bank agreed to match the amount. As such a grand total of £1,340 was raised. Many thanks to the Lynn Marie and the team at Barclays for their generous contribution.

Ray Hall, Business Manager N/East England and East Yorkshire said 'Well done again to all. The weather, birds and seals all played their part and everyone had an enjoyable time'

Congratulations to Val Dobson, Claire Kent and team for all their hard work and ingenuity.
