The Sue Ryder hospice at Leckhampton Court in Cheltenham Gloucestershire needs to borrow a marquee for their annual Autumn Fayre on Saturday 11 September 2010 11 – 4pm.
The fayre raises vital funds for the hospice and this year a large marquee is needed to house the stallholders who will exhibit arts, crafts and jewellery.
Sian Harris Events Fundraiser at Sue Ryder – Leckhampton Court Hospice said “We really need to borrow a marquee of about 20ft X 20ft approximately and some experts to erect it. The hospice relies on money raised from the Fayre and the marquee is a big part of the day”.
Every year in September people come up to the grounds of the hospice in Leckhampton next to St Peters’ Church and enjoy live music and browse stalls and children are entertained with a bouncy castle, children’s games, face painting and performance by The Music Man.
The fayre will be opened this year by Mayor of Cheltenham Councillor Anne Regan and, as is tradition, closed by the Gloucestershire Morris Men who dance and entertain the crowds.
Live music and entertainment is provided all day from 11 – 4pm and this year will include a performance from the Cotswold Big Band, a miniature steam engine and a demonstration from The Angells pet shop who will bring a selection of animals for children to see.
Food and refreshments will also be available all day and include a BBQ, Bar, Tea and Cakes.
If anyone can help by lending the hospice a marquee, please contact Sian in the Fundraising team on 01242 246 293 or email sian.harris@sueryder.org.
