The Firm’s 40 staff members have set a goal to raise £10,000 to support the vital work carried out in Yorkshire by the highly regarded charity. Walker Foster will be collecting regularly within their four offices, and running a number of events throughout 2010 to boost the funds.
In addition Walker Foster will be participating in some of the events created by Manorlands for such activities as The Ladies Midnight Walk in Ilkley due to take place in September.
Maxine Worrall, a Partner based at the Ilkley office of Walker Foster said: “This is the first time all our offices have combined to support a charity, and we believe that our choice of Sue Ryder - Manorlands Hospice will prove to be beneficial for all concerned. We have been very impressed by their enthusiasm both in caring for a wide community, but also in the ways and means they look to raise funds. We wish to assist them in doing all we can towards our goal for this wonderful charity”.
Walker Foster will be holding events throughout 2010 in the towns from which they operate, such as wine tastings, and special days to introduce their comprehensive legal services for individuals, families and businesses.
Andrew Wood, Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder - Manorlands Hospice said: “This is great news for our charity and we believe this is the start of a very rewarding partnership for the 650 people we help each year.”
Walker Foster operates out of 4 offices based in Skipton, Silsden, Ilkley and Barnoldswick, with 8 partners across the Firm and 40 staff. The Firm is now moving into its 91st year of business.
