Special POSH fixture to raise awareness of Sue Ryder

11 December 2009

Peterborough United Football Club are delighted to announce that the fixture with Cardiff City on 28th December (3pm) has been designated as a day to raise awareness of our three charities for the 2009-10 campaign, the Free Kicks Foundation, Sue Ryder and ASBAH.

'Our Chairman Darragh MacAnthony has recognised the superb work that the charities undertake throughout the year and as such has kindly allowed for the sponsorship of our kit to be replaced for one game only by our three nominated charities.

We have worked closely with our kit manufacturer adidas who have kindly donated a full kit, with help from Chroma Sports, for the fixture with Cardiff City. Chairman Darragh MacAnthony said "I believe this is the first time in our history that we have used a one off kit for a league fixture and I was delighted to allow our three charities to have their logo's on our strip".

"We are delighted to be working so closely with Sue Ryder, it is a charity that is really close to my heart and they are an organisation that does so much for people both in the city and across the country"

"The Free Kicks Foundation is a charity that helps disadvantaged children across the city. Steve Thorpe and his team work exceptionally hard and has a close link with the football club. ASBAH are the leading UK registered charity providing information and advice about spina bifida and hydrocephalus and have been involved with the football club for a number of years. I would like to take this opportunity to thank addidas and Chroma Sports for all their continued support and assistance."
