Members of a local networking group, BNI Peterborough Synergy Chapter, are going to be collecting Christmas wrapping paper for Sue Ryder.
Sue Ryder-Thorpe Hall Hospice run an annual ‘Christmas Gift Wrap’ at Queensgate Shopping Centre, who donate over £1,000 worth of materials to the charity, however after 1250 meters of paper 2500 meters of ribbon and 850 bows last years volunteers ran out of materials.
Last week fundraisers from Sue Ryder asked shoppers to pick up an extra roll of wrapping paper when buying their own and donate it to the wrap appeal and the BNI Synergy members were quick to pledge their support. The team from BNI Synergy, which is a local networking group designed to help businesses, will be collecting wrapping paper from donators at their business premises in and around Peterborough.
People wishing to give rolls of wrapping paper for the charity event, can drop them off either at reception at Thorpe Hall Hospice in Longthorpe, Peterborough or at the several BNI members business premises across Peterborough.
BNI Synergy adopted Sue Ryder as their charity earlier this year and have been helping out ever since. They will be hosting a visitor’s day on November 25th and would like to invite local business men and women to attend.
Emma Long, a fundraiser at Thorpe Hall, said “This is a great help provided to us by BNI Synergy and will hopefully enable those people wishing to supply us with donations of wrapping paper but can’t get to Thorpe Hall with an alternatively place to drop their donations off at. All of the wrapping paper and bows we receive will be a great help to us so this event can be a success.”
