The 50-strong #Team Incredible celebrating their awesome achievement
There was a very special supporter waiting at the final stretch of this year’s Great Eastern Run in Peterborough: Thorpe Hall patient Sue Preston.
She was there to cheer on her daughter Laura, son Rob and Laura’s partner Brendon, who were all running to raise money for our Sue Ryder hospice on Sunday 9th October.
Staff at Thorpe Hall spent the morning preparing Sue for the trip into the city centre – a very real demonstration of the incredible care her family were raising money to help fund.

A £15,000 achievement
The three were part of our 50-strong #TeamIncredible running the half marathon and 5k fun run in support of Thorpe Hall Hospice.
A team of nurses, nursing and admin assistants joined the fun-runners in uniform while five members of staff tackled the half marathon.
So far the total funds raised at Sunday’s event for Thorpe Hall stands at £15,000 – with that figure set to rise further.
Sue Ryder staff ran alongside supporters
Thorpe Hall fundraiser Nilesh Patel not only supported Thorpe Hall’s runners, but he also ran the half marathon.
He said: "As usual, the Great Eastern Run was a fantastic community event. Seeing so many people tackling the race, all with a different reason for doing so, was just brilliant.
"Three members of the Preston family ran for us to say thank you for the support we are giving Sue," he continued. "We were delighted that our hospice staff were able to help her get to the Embankment to witness their efforts.
"Some of our nursing team who took part in the 5K fun run were so enthused that they're thinking about setting up a running group so they can train for the half marathon next year!" he added.
