Sue Ryder volunteers on BBC Radio 4

You and Yours volunteering special

Two of our volunteers were interviewed by the BBC as part of BBC Radio 4's 'Call You and Yours' special programme on volunteering on 11th September 2012.

Jake Wilson, Sue Ryder London office

Jake Wilson, 19, joined the Sue Ryder London office in September 2012 for a short-term project, analysing retail data on the charity's shops.

Jake saw the role as an opportunity to put his statistical skills and theoretical knowledge from his studies into use while gaining real-world experience. Listen to Jake at 40m43s.

Hanneke Dye, Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice

Hanneke Dye volunteers regularly at Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice. She provides massage to service users and their loved ones.

Hanneke retrained in holistic therapies after the death of her husband, Edward, at Manorlands in 2006. Listen to Hanneke at 48m21s.
