Sally has been an incredible help to Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice since she joined the Fundraising Team in 2008. After her husband died in the hospice, Sally felt she wanted to 'give something back'.
Sally volunteers once a week counting cash donations and helping with other administrative tasks. She also holds a monthly coffee morning and an annual Brass Band concert to raise funds and build up awareness of the hospice in the local community. Sally is a fantastic baker and every year at our Garden Party she sells cakes, buns and biscuits which she has made herself. To date Sally has raised over £25,000 from all of these activities!
As if all that wasn’t enough, Sally is also a vital member of the events team. Be it standing in a muddy field, running a tombola, or serving refreshments into the small hours at our Starlight Hike, Sally can always be relied upon to provide additional support. Her positivity and enthusiasm to help is endless.
Sally is 83 years old and has such amazing energy and passion for the hospice. Without volunteers like Sally we would not be able to continue providing the incredible hospice care we do. She is a wonderful asset to the team and a fantastic ambassador for Sue Ryder and Manorlands Hospice.
