Family and Bereavement Support
We offer people a place to share their grief, someone to talk to and support for as long as they need it, until they are ready to cope on their own. Support is tailored to suit a carer or family member’s individual needs, helping to increase confidence and reduce feelings of isolation. Find out more
Morrisons have helped fund social workers, who provide specialist emotional and practical support to loved ones and carers going through a distressing and uncertain time, and can also put them in touch with other local services where appropriate. Find out more
In April 2016 Morrisons began funding our volunteer befriending service, available in the areas surrounding all seven Sue Ryder Hospices. Our trained befrienders are there to talk, listen, or simply sit beside someone. They can visit someone at home who is feeling lonely, or give carers a much-needed short break.
