Liverpool to Leeds Cycle 2018
Friday 21st to Saturday 22 September
Most people will have heard of the Leeds Liverpool Canal and its historical importance. However, most have not walked or cycled the entire route!
Covering a total distance of 126 miles split across two days, this is a challenging but hugely enjoyable ride. The views are wonderful - taking in buildings of historical importance, feats of Victorian engineering and spectacular wildlife.
Overnight accommodation in a shared room is included in the entry price for this event. Please get in touch if you would like to book a single room.
You don't need to carry any additional baggage during the ride, and the ride leaders will carry cycle maintenance gear, extra support tools and puncture kits to ensure a smooth journey.
To complete this challenge, you should be fit enough to cycle at minimum of 50 miles in one day on a mountain or hybrid bike on trail or towpath conditions.
What your fundraising can achieve
£50 could provide one session of bereavement counselling for someone struggling to cope with the loss of a loved one, £135 could pay for a hospice nurse for a day; £500 could pay for a bed for a day of inpatient care for a patient at our Wheatfields Hospice.
From a personal challenge perspective this ride is tough, but the rewards for riding this route speak for themselves – a heightened sense of achievement and an enjoyable couple of days.
