What to bring

If you are coming to St John’s Hospice

While you’re with us, we will do everything we can to make your stay as comfortable and relaxed as possible.You’ll need to bring with you:

  • any medicines or tablets you are currently taking
  • single assessment file (Bedfordshire – pink folder, Cambridgeshire – blue folder)
  • stoma or catheter equipment (if required)
  • dressings/wound care products (if required)

You may also like to bring:

  • toiletries (we can supply towels and flannels if you require them)
  • comfortable day clothes/nightwear/dressing gown/slippers
  • tissues
  • writing paper, pens, stamps, books, magazines 
  • electrical devices such as an MP3 player or laptop computer can be used but will need to be checked by our maintenance team
Bedside lockers are provided for your personal belongings. You might like to bring a little money to buy items in the hospice. Visitors can bring in any particular items of food you may fancy. Your own food will be labelled and stored for you. Please note Sue Ryder and St John’s Hospice cannot be held responsible for any theft, loss or damage to personal property belonging to patients or visitors.
