What should patients bring?

On admission to our inpatient  unit bring with you:
  • Pyjamas  or night clothes. Bring extra sets with you to keep clean and comfy. You can also bring a laundry bag to make it easier for friends or family to wash and return your personal items of clothing
  • Comfortable slippers that are easy for you to slip on and off
  • Comfortable and loose fitting underwear and socks
  • Comfortable day clothes so you can get dressed if you would like to and/or a dressing gow, cardigan or fleece to wear over your night clothes during the day
  • Any special medical items you need, including any medication that you usually take, even if you only take them occasionally
  • Any aids or appliances that you use including hearing aids, glasses, wrist splints, walking sticks
  • Ear plugs and/or an eye mask which can help keep things quieter and darker when you wish to rest
  • Baby wipes or wet wipes for freshening up
  • Toothpaste and mouthwash
  • Your favourite shampoo and conditioner, or dry shampoo should you wish to freshen your hair without washing it. Some patients like to bring their favourite perfume, aftershave or body spray too
  • Moisturiser
  • Books and magazines or puzzles and pens
  • iPod or personal music player so you can listen to your favourite music
  • A mobile phone – we just ask you turn it to silent while here so not to disturb other patients
  • Laptop computer and/or tablet so you can watch DVDs, listen to music and/or play games should you wish to – we have free Wifi here at Leckhampton Court
  • Family photos or diaries – we have a space next to your bed you can personalise to help you feel more at home here
  • Any snacks or treats you enjoy
