We had a young man called Michael at one of our hospices who was a musician. Before he became ill, he played steel drums in a samba band.

The nurses could see how much he missed playing, so they got in touch with his friends.

One day when Michael looked out the window, he saw his steel band on the lawn in front of the hospice, all set up and ready to jam.

He couldn’t believe it!

The band played away for Michael and everyone at the hospice, with their cheerful sound ringing out and making everyone smile.

It absolutely made his day.
