Elise, a grandmother of two young girls, was spending her final days at one of our hospices.
Because the hospice volunteers had been out gardening in the run-up to summer, planting bulbs, cutting the lawn and keeping the pathways clear, Elise was able to go out into the beautiful hospice grounds and enjoy the fresh air whenever she wanted.
Her daughter pushed her round the beautiful grounds in a wheelchair.
Her granddaughters ran ahead, picking flowers and bringing them back to her with laughter and big smiles.
Some of the last photos taken of Elise show the family sitting together in the sunshine – Elise is holding the flowers the girls handpicked for her.
