Who we are

We have over 3,000 staff and 9,000 volunteers based across the UK.

Our Trustees are dedicated to good governance of the Sue Ryder Charity. They ensure that strategic planning and policy development processes are in place, set long-term goals and strategy to achieve those goals. They are responsible for the appointment of the Chief Executive to whom they delegate the day to day management of the Charity.

Sue Ryder Chief Executive to retire after seven years of incredible care

On 24th April 2013, Paul Woodward, Chief Executive at Sue Ryder, announced his retirement after seven successful years.   You can read the press release outlining his key achievement during seven years at Sue Ryder and his comments on his time as Chief Executive: Sue Ryder Chief Executive to retire after seven years of incredible care     

Plans will now be implemented to ensure a thorough process to appoint a new Chief Executive by March 2014.
